Ampco System Parking

I just came back from the Government Center... I entered the ramp not paying attention to the rates because I figured it was like any other NORMAL ramp and I'd maybe pay $4 to $8 because I knew I'd be there for a short period of time. I was there for maybe 25 minutes and it cost me $17. If you're there 20 minutes and under its $2. But 21 to 40 minutes is $17. Absolutely ridiculous. I"m so upset. I'm telling everyone that I possibly can to never park in this ramp. That is some robbery right there if you ask me.

The ramp on the NW corner charged me $16.00 for 30 mins today. I almost fell over. It was $2 for the first 20 mins, $16 for 20-40 mins and an additional $2 for every 20 mins after that. I think there are different ramps on this block and Sally might be thinking of the other one. I had to goto City Hall to check on something for a neighbor and it took about 1 min to deal with and the rest of the time was finding the office and waiting in line. $16!!! I don't think I've paid $16 to park in a ramp ALL DAY.

I don't know why all these people are saying it's $20.00. I've been parking here for work for a year. Its $11.50 for 12 hours...$8.50 if you get in before 8:00am. Maybe they are actually parking in the under ground ramp at the government center and not the ramp on 5th? Or the ramp that is right next door that is around $20.00. This is one of the cheaper ramps I have found that isn't far from Marquette where my office is. Plus the second level has skyway access and I can get to my office through the skyway in the winter. My car has never been scratched, broken into, etc. . Easy in Easy out.

NOTE: Sorry for the confusion: YOU NEED TO READ THIS so you don't make the same mistake I made! This review is aimed at ALLIED PARKING, on the 4th street side. It is being confused with the Government Center parking ramp, that is accessible on the 5th street side. They share the same skyway to the Government Center ***WARNING - DO NOT PARK HERE!!! (Allied Parking)***. $31.00 for 2 1/2 hours. I have been RIPPED OFF. NEVER park in this, (Allied Parking), ramp. They use the "bait-n-switch" tactic, (people think it's the Government Center parking ramp). As I walked out I saw another person in shock for having to pay $21.00 for 20 minutes. These people are nothing but crooks. WARNING - DO NOT PARK HERE!!!, (at Allied Parking, on the 4th avenue side)

27 goddamn dollars for 5 hours of parking? Get real. Could have bought a full tank of gas and had a homeless man drive my car around the block for 5 hours and would have spent less money.
