Before any work started they put together a detailed schedule broken down by week showing exactly what was happening and when, which trades would be on site, and what decisions we needed to make ahead of time so nothing got held up waiting on us. That kind of planning made a huge difference because we've done renovations before where the homeowner is constantly chasing the contractor for updates and it's exhausting. Every morning the crew lead would check in briefly about what was happening that day and if anything came up that deviated from the plan they called immediately rather than just making decisions on their own.
