Bedford Lock and Key/key4 cars, Locksmiths in Massachusetts

I hate not giving anyone 5 stars. I love supporting local businesses so when my front door lock needed repair, I called Bedford Lock & Key. The proprietor is not the most polite person I have dealt with but it is more about the service and it was convenient being in the same town. I replaced the knobset and deadbolt for my front door. My bad, I should have asked for a quote first so when I was given the total of $623, I was taken aback. The materials amounted to $332 with labor at $125 and $70 for the lock to be set to my current key. I was not given new keys. I was also charged $75 for him to drive less than 2 miles to my house (service call). I AM IN THE SAME TOWN! The price is over the top and when I attempted to call back as not all my keys worked, he interrupted me to tell me

I called to ask if I could come in to get a key copied. He was extremely rude and told me I wasn’t listening since “I don’t have store hours anymore”. I tried to clarify that I was asking if I could come in today at any time since their sign said call to make an appointment; he said “I can’t tell you that, you just have to call back and if I’m in the store then you can come in”. Horrific experience just trying to figure out when I could come in to get a key copied, would not recommend.

After our local “recommended” locksmith wanted $175 just to look at the problem we had with our front door, I looked at Google reviews and tried calling Bedford Lock. Mike came promptly and clearly was very knowledgeable with our complicated lock system. He took great care to get the job done right at a competitive price, and followed up with us to help with a separate question at no charge. He is a one-man operation, so you get the best person whenever you call, though he may be rushed on the phone, or you may have to leave a message of course. Help from Mike is worth it even if he may be busy when you call. Five stars. So glad we found him!

Absolutely trash called them for a key for a car and they were trying to charge 420 for a car key Wich is way more expensive than the dealership don't even make sense why would someone by ur key if they can get it from a more reliable source for cheaper

10/10 - exceptional guys right here! Long story short, I had been scammed by a different fake locksmith company for $317 and they didn’t even finish the job. They basically drilled through a deadbolt, had me pay, left to get a new lock and never came back. I called Bedford Lock and Key because they are certified with the BBB and have an A+ rating. And that rating is LEGIT!! I called in the afternoon yesterday, their shop is about 40mins from my location and they made time for me first thing in the morning today. Five generations of locksmiths, the owner Mike’s nephew came to fix our deadbolt this morning. Super polite, very clear on what he was going to do. I assumed they’d replace the whole lock but he didn’t even have to, he just replaced the key mechanism. Took him all of 15minutes, cha
