Hired BossHogg to put in a French drain and some channel drains along the front of my house. Good: John was pleasant to deal with, seems like a nice guy Neutral: 4k/day seems steep, but I didn’t get other quotes, so that’s on me. Not great: the crew did not knockout the end of the channel drain where it connected to the drain pipe, so the water just came out the top of the last channel. It doesn’t appear the soil was compacted correctly over the French drain. I poured concrete piers for a front porch and the two next to the house have settled around 4 inches. The two outside of where digging occurred haven’t moved. 9/2025 Edit: one part of the job was to reroute the sump pump drain line. Boss Hogg really impressed me with their top-notch service. They tackled the culvert extension and graded the yard with skill and professionalism. The team was efficient, ensuring that the work was done in a timely manner. And let me tell you, the results are absolutely worth it! The culvert is now functioning and wider from 15ft to 30ft, and the yard looks leveled and ready to grow grass. We discussed what I wanted done and I mentioned that price was a concern.
