British Classic Restoration

I bought a very nice MGB from Cecil. The car was serviced well and runs great. No pressure sale and negotiations were easy. So far, the car is everything he said it would be. No doubt that I would have him service it or buy another car from him in the future.

I took my Fiat to Cecil about 2 years ago, after it was sideswiped on the side of the road. He took the job on as an insurance job. The steering was locked, which he diagnosed as needing a new steering column. In the process he disconnected the working ignition cylinder, without marking the wires, and then was not able to rewire it correctly. A year later, after months of being unable to reach him, I went by his shop to find out what was going on. He still hadn't finished the vehicle, so I asked for it, and my money back. He promised to send a check to me. No check was ever sent. He just took the ~$1350, completed 1/10th of the work, and then refused to answer any texts or emails afterwards, then did not keep his word to return the money. I have a 1967 Morgan Plus 4. I had been trying to sort out a problem of intermittent hesitation that had plagued the car and no one could seem to find the problem. Cecil took the car and carefully went through a thorough diagnostic. He consulted with others and solved the problem, tuned the car, made other enhancements to assure fuel flow, and it has never run better. What I like about Cecil is that he does not give up or take short cuts. He may want your car for some time, but when completed you will be happy and it is money well spent...especially where reliability is always a concern for classics.
