Cherry Design + Build

I used Sam to design and build a deck for a hot tub. There were details I hadn't thought about that he brought up. Clearly, he is experienced as a designer and carpenter. He did the work efficiently and in a timely way. He is a perfectionist in a good way. I loved the job he did and would absolutely hire him to do other, more complex jobs. He even stayed around for the hot tub delivery to make sure all went well and to help create the right space for the electrical hookup. I can't imagine a better job and I can be pretty demanding. You may find other, cheaper options, but Sam's work was a great value. Deserving of five stars. Then there was the second project Cherry Design+Build did at my home. Sam and team were great to work with, from design to execution. We did a full basement buildout (starting from a dirt crawl space), with complex permitting, dig out, and construction, all while dealing with pre-existing concrete footings/foundation. The end result is beautiful, nicely complementing the rest of our home. Throughout the process, communication was easy and Sam helped us evaluate all the decisions that came up along the way. Would highly recommend working with Cherry Design + Build.

Sam and his team are great! We've completed two projects with Cherry Design + Build, including a major kitchen remodel that included removing a wall and significant structural work, and we've been very happy with the quality of their work and adherence to the project schedule. Sam stands by his work, so, if something's not right, he fixes it, and he was very helpful as we navigated the extra challenges (and opportunities) of remodeling in an old house.

Where do I start? I moved into my house 11 years ago and did 3 major projects with Sam. Kitchen renovation, basement remodel and sunroom extension + ADU + overall house maintenance. We just finished the most recent project around at May 2025. The overall experience has been very positive, he runs a tight crew and has a wide net of sub contractors at his reach. This translates into project that is on time and runs efficiently. The quality of work is very solid and to spec. I can’t comment how good the pricing is relatively to others and lords knows I have spent way too much already. However I can say I don’t regret spending a dollar of it with Sam. Money well spent and I can highly recommend.

Sam and his team did a phenomenal job of remodeling our home. We had several challenging projects and they were all executed with great skill. We were also very happy with the level of communication and Sam’s professionalism. We were out of town for much of the work and felt completely comfortable with Sam overseeing everything.
