My electrical work had already been done by another unregistered electrician, but CookCo required an electrician that was licensed and registered in Cook County and I found Clar Electric on the county's list of such. Jamie Clar is the owner/electrician and he was simply great to work with.... incredibly responsive and a really good communicator. He reviewed what the prior electrician had done, noted some minor code violations that he would fix if the CookCo inspector made issues of them, and guaranteed that he would be present for the inspection once it was scheduled. He then coordinated with the inspector, and once the inspector understood the (small) size of my project, he indicated that he could conduct the inspection with photos. He and his crew were on time, were polite and knowledgeable. 01/13/2021: Replaced canned light in shower with an LED canister. Jamie completed this job. Cost: $150.00 During that visit, I scheduled the second "task list." 02/05/2021: Installed LED mount in coat closet (hard-wired) Installed 7 outlets throughout our 1953 home. Cost: $1900.00 On the 2nd job, I had wanted 3 outlets in the bedroom. The 2-man crew advised that it would be risky on one wall - a danger of drilling to the outside (the way the home's joists are positioned).
