Colonial Generators

Horrible. right out of the gate they wanted all money down. The fine print said otherwise so they held to the fine print. 50 down, 40 install complete, 10 inspected and legally running with the county. Then, Colonial out of Sanford FL disappeared. No contact, phones down. Our contract included the first year warranty service. They have yet to contact and I am unable to contact for scheduling. I contacted the PA office and they said they forwarded the request to the Sanford office. Again, I think they disappeared. Since my contracted service was with the Sanford office, no other service is offered unless I pay for it.... = breach of contract. The main office is no help at all. The equipment is fine and running well, just cant get any service on it from Colonial. At this point, i dont thin

Well, I guess I should count myself as lucky based on the recent comments. I hired Colonial to install a 22KW generator last year (mid 2018). Overall it went smoothly enough. The county had issues with several of the details of the electrical connections and grounding, but Colonial came out and fixed then each time. The only real issue I had was that the permit was never closed out. I didn't realize this until I went to pull another permit and noticed that the generator electrical installation permit was shown as "expired" instead of "final". When I called Colonial to get it resolved, I could not get a call back. I ended up talking to the county myself and explaining that the final inspection had occurred (I was there for it), and they went ahead and changed it to show as final. For

I considered for weeks whether or not to write this review. I feel that, in the interest of consumer welfare that I must. I will try to be as fair to all as possible. We were put in touch with this company by Generac after having inquired about purchasing/installing a whole home system. The sales process was smooth. We contracted on 9/1/18 to purchase the system with a generous installation date of 11/12/18. I should tell you that the generator was finally powered up an operational on 1/11/19. Note that this was 4.5 months after the contract was signed and 2 months after the agreed upon installation date. I signed a contract with this company on April 19, 2019 and paid the required 50% down of $6000.00. I was told it would take 1-2 months for the permitting process to complete, it is now 4 months and no contact from the company. My sales rep conveniently resigned from the company within 2 weeks leaving me with no contact person. I was then given another contact person named Chris Jones who told me I had to contact the office manager, Melissa Hubbard who never returns calls. In fact no one returns phone calls. Finally got a phone response from the "interim branch manager" Erick Feldman assuring me the permit process was "in the last phase". I have a Generac Generator sitting beside my house since August of 2019. Electrical has been run and we are paying the financing. Waiting for the gas lines to be run. I have not heard from Colonial Generators since the first of October of last year. Have tried to call, no one returns your calls. Called the corporate number in Pennsylvania, no one returns your call! Call the local office in Sanford, it does not have a working phone number! I have written to the BBB in Pennsylvania and shocker, the company did not respond. I would advise anyone thinking of using this company, DO NOT!! Generac should be ashamed that this company represents their generators!
