If your kiddo is interested in trying getting, this is a wonderful school with an owner who "gets it." I called our local fencing school and was snobbily told that they were "a school for elite athletes," which was why the children's beginners classes cost so much and would require 5+ hours of commitment per week. When I called Maestra Silvia she said, "he's a kid - he doesn't even know if he likes fencing yet. Why would we do that?" Hallelujah! Students can take one hour or multiple hours per week with group or private classes, prices are reasonable, and staff is very accommodating. Dragon Heart Fencing is a group of lovely instructors (who have ALSO trained world-class athletes, btw) who care about the students, and also understand that our kids might not yet live and breathe fencing,

This is a wonderful fencing school. The coaches are very attentive to the fencers needs and work with them to achieve their individual goals. They have programs for the most casual recreational fencer to Olympic level. They have a wide variety of classes and class levels to choose from for practices. As an Occupational Therapist, I love that they are developing fencing programs for the visually impaired in our community. I also like that they use a lot of functional activities to achieve outcomes for proper fencing techniques. What might seem like games to some are very purposefully designed and implemented to teach proper technique in a fun and engaging way. If you are on the fence (no pun intended!), give Dragon Heart a try!

It is a very professional academy, also with a pleasant and welcoming environment for all our children where, in addition to teaching them fencing, they also play and interact with each other, the teacher and her family are excellent people

Dragonheart Fencing Academy is hands down the best academy ever! Coach Silvia is nothing but amazing. Her teaching approach is unique and engaging, learning through games makes the classes fun and educational. The focus on footwork and target training ensures that every session is productive and never dull. Even in just one hour-long session, students learn a lot and get to do so much. I love the option to attend multiple times a week for extra practice and repetition. What sets Coach Silvia apart is her ability to incorporate other activities that work the mind and body, fostering quick reflexes and an active physique. I've known her since 2019 so maybe I’m a little biased but she never fails to impress. I've introduced a few friends to her lessons, and they fell in love with fencing just

The concept of the academy is great but I wish the coach would focus more on teaching actual fencing techniques. The kids meet once a week for an hour, and from that one hour, there are a lot of other activities that do not focus on teaching them good fencing techniques. Children learn through repetition which the lessons lack. I think the lessons would be more productive if the coach would repeat a set of certain fencing techniques such as footwork and target aiming just to name a few in each lesson. The children never know what to expect at each lesson. Now don’t take me wrong, the lessons are fun but if fencing were not the focus. An hour a week is just simply not enough time to be wasted on physical activities that do not focus on learning new and repeating learnt fencing techniques. B
