Duncanson Electric Co -- Joe the Electrician

Joe was in my home for just 10 minutes. He diagnosed my dimmer switch repair immediately. He could not do the actual repair since he did not stock a new dimmer switch on his truck. He walked me through fixing it myself. For a total of 10 minutes in my home he charged me $110. After speaking with 3 other electricians I was told that the visit should not have been more than $80. Shame on me for not asking him what his service call charge would be ahead of time! Do not make the same mistake! Ask first!

I contacted Joe after seeing his favorable reviews on the web. As a potential new customer, this was my first experience with him. After discussing the problem we were having, he thought it was likely a Duke Power issue with the electric running into the house. He also politely advised how to navigate through Duke’s Customer Service, so that we had a quick response. Happily, we had the problem corrected by the Utility, with no expense to us. Clearly, Joe could have made a routine service call, delivered the same advice and billed me for this advice. It’s refreshing to come across a service provider that seems to place quality above profit. Thanks Joe!

Joe was friendly and polite and showed up on time. Did the job in a reasonable amount of time. Gave me a reasonable HELPFUL solution when he could have ripped me off, and charged me a very reasonable price. I am happy with the work that he did. One suggestion that I have for Joe is that he should have told me that he does not accept credit cards while we were on the phone. He told at the end of the job when it came time to pay, and I was planning on paying with a credit card. This came as quite a surprise to me. But since the job was not expensive it was not an issue. But it could have been an issue if it was a more expensive situation. I also think that it would be worth noting that he starts counting the first hour of labor when he leaves his house, and not when he gets to your house.

Gave Joe a call post seeing his van parked in The Home Depot parking light about lights flickering inside the house. Despite being under the weather he spent time with me on the phone to diagnosis the problem without seeing it, and was able to get everything resolved without coming to the house or charging me. Could've scheduled a time to come and charged us hundreds of dollars instead. Due to that honesty and ability to diagnosis the problem without seeing it he will absolutely be the person I call whenever I need anything done!

Very honest and fair. Joe will treat you like a friend and not like another customer to help you resolve the problem/issue that you have anyway he can. Honesty and fairness is not something you find very often these days in people but Joe was all that and more. He returned my calls on time, follow through and never left me hanging. Keep it up Joe and thanks again for your help.
