Elevation Home Designs

I used Jared and his team to design a 4200 square foot custom home on a 4.5 acre lot. The team listened to my initial ideas for aesthetic and came up with a plan that was about 90% of the way there. We then sat down in a design meeting to make some changes here and there and the whole thing was completed in a couple of months. After that, Ethan submitted the permit application and we went from there. The communication was always prompt and professional. There are two negative reviews, both complaining that Jared disappears after being paid. That was not my experience. In fact, I contacted Jared again over a year after the initial plans were produced to have a meeting about interior design ideas and we had several such meetings. Jared modeled some options for us using his design software.

They lack sincerity and integrity. Jared is a family guy, so I had hopes he would be great to work with since we're designing and building a home for a growing family. I was wrong. We trusted him and Elevation too much and it has cost us thousands upon thousands to fix their mistakes and work around some awkward architecture. The designer, Alice, I can clearly see now did not have our vision in mind, knows nothing about family and kids, and doesn't know how to design a rural house. We got the impression she designs based off of magazines and what's culturally popular, instead of what her clients want. We highly recommend Jared and his team for designing custom homes. He and his team transformed our 1946 waterfront cabin on Vashon into a beautiful house, with a well thought out and functional floor plan that capitalizes on the views. The design reflects exactly what we envisioned. There was a lot of engineering involved because it’s on a steep slope, plus King County required a small portion of the existing foundation to remain…which was tricky to do. We are very glad we hired the engineer Jared recommended because there was a significant amount of coordination needed between the structural and architectural design. Hire an actual architect instead of a company masquerading as one. Their oversights (including ones I brought up in advance) cost me tens of thousands, months of time, and contractors didn’t want to bid off the plans because too many items were missing (all electrical/mechanical). Hell, they used conflicting energy credits and caused me to do numerous plan adjustments with the city and my laundry room is a nightmare. Oh yeah…and they STOPPED RESPONDING AFTER I PAID FOR THE PLANS. Literally couldn’t get them to respond to calls or emails. Had to work directly with the structural engineer and the city myself. Jared and team were amazing to work with on designing a garage with adu. Then when it came time for permitting they went above a beyond having a meeting with the local permitting office to walk them through the plans ensure a quick review and approval. This team is professional, responsive and knowledgeable.
