I recently encountered a serious issue with my dishwasher, leading to smoke filling my house and discovering burnt plastic pieces on the door, indicating a significant fire hazard. American Home Shield (AHS) directed me to 1st Choice Appliance Repair LLC for service. The technician from 1st Choice promptly diagnosed the need to replace the control board but did not consider replacing the entire appliance. The decision to repair rather than replace seemed financially motivated, overlooking the safety and long-term satisfaction of the customer. Furthermore, the burnt plastic on the door, a clear sign of the severity of the incident, was not adequately addressed, raising concerns about the thoroughness of the evaluation and the prioritization of financial over safety considerations. They came to fix my dishwasher through my home warranty insurance. They came in and went back 3 times, wasted 1.5 months and damaged my dishwasher to the point I had to replace it by myself. I reached out to the home warranty. They suggested me to claim it from their insurance. I called them to get their insurance information. They refused. I asked permission to record the call and request them to refuse on record. They declined. Hung up the phone saying 'please don't call this number again'. I feel bad for you even if you are considering to hire them!

No wonder there only have 1.2 stars.if I could I give no stars. My hubby just called his head and sayed what kind of company is that. So rud and lies. Tech. Are not very professional and sassy rude and lie Can’t answere no questions .There answere is always I don’t know . Part to order for appliance take short time 6-7 day that would be good. But also saying it can take a month or more. Also take them for ever to get authorization done with homewarranty insurance. Usually it can get done in the next 1 hour or so or even the tech can call and do it from there phone. If I would have see the reviews before. I would have let my homewarranty know I don’t want them . But I will give you guys an update.

If I could give a 0 I would. Part of the most recent issue I had with this company was due to the warranty folks sending them out again as I requested to never have them again. Not only did they send the same company but they sent the same tech who is TERRIBLE. Anyway....they came out and guessed that the problem was with either the heating element or motor in my washing machine. Didn't even look at it. Then they said since the machine is stacked they'd have to charge labor for moving it. I thought that was suspicious seeing how the warranty company said EVERYTHING was covered on my machine. But the tech said that I would have to pay. He didn't give me a dollar amount, I just basically said to them "do what you have to do". So he said it would be 5-7 days before the parts came in.

When I complained about my GE Profile refrigerator was not working American home shield sent a technician from first choice appliance repair and the guy did not even spend 5 minutes to diagnose the issue and he said I have to live with the problem as the issue is not covered by the warranty company. Never let this business get into your home. They don’t know the value of your loved appliances.
