Floors By Steve

We have had Floors By Steve redo hardwood floors at two different properties and both times they did excellent work. Pricing was good and the workers were communicative about testing the stains we wanted to use — sending us examples to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.

I was nervous about replacing my carpet with hardwood because it's a big job, but Floors by Steve did a fantastic job for us! I had initially visited another flooring store first, which sells lots of different flooring, but when I checked out Floors by Steve, I went with them because they are truly experts in hardwood. Lisa had great ideas and is very experienced in hardwood flooring (as is her dad, Steve). Walter, the installer (and his partner) did an excellent job with the installation! They worked hard to clean up every day and minimize distruption and took care to get everything right. I am thrilled with the end result!

Steve took advantage. The price kept increasing without explanation. I don't mind paying extra for very good work. And I wouldn't be upset if I overpaid a bit for standard work. But my stairs that they remodeled don't even meet code, and we specifically spoke about this. There were lots of issues, and when I brought them up to Steve, he denied responsibility. I ended up fixing some of their errors myself, and I have never installed wood floors. At best, he is very unprofessional. At worst, he is out to take advantage of his customers. Not recommended.

As part of a complete make-over of our living room we had Steve remove the 30+ year-old carpet and repair and re-finish the pegged oak flooring underneath it. Steve submitted the best bid on the project, but also offered a less expensive option that might be done if the floor under the carpet was it good shape (unfortunately it was not). Once the carpet was removed, we also discovered a few unexpected problems that needed attention. Steve was able to solve and deal with all of them and the extra work was done with a very modest increase in the project cost. The work done by the crew was absolutely outstanding. We highly recommend Floors By Steve for your flooring needs. We used them on a basement LVP project and it turned out beautiful. Starting with Lisa the sales manager who really came up with great ideas for us, and Patrick and the crew that tore out our old flooring and installed the new product. It was a great experience and we could not be happier. They have the personal touch that you cannot get from a big box store.
