Fox Plumbing, Heating & Cooling (now a Gene Johnson company)

Hugo Lira was excellent with his communication about his arrival time and Gene Johnson emailed me a link to for the location tracker of the vehicle so I could see how far he was, which was a cool feature. Hugo is a really personable, knowledgeable, and an efficient plumber, and I will recommend him to anyone who has plumbing needs. He offered me different options to fix my toilet, and I decided to go with a full toilet replacement which included the shut-off valve replacement which I really needed. I was curious to learn about what needed to be done and he was very welcoming to allow me to watch the process and explained what he was doing very clearly. I do not recommend Fox/Gene Johnson. Companies like this are ruining the home services business--highly suggest finding a fair, small alternative service provider instead. I used because my former Fox tech (Mike) would come out same day, super knowledgable, quick fix. Today's experience was the tech showed up, clearly not familiar with my older system (which are very simple compared to modern boilers), quoted $650 diagnosis fee (this was never communicated when booking the trip), was able to talk down to $250 but said I had to pay list price for any potential fix. The price book he showed be didn't show a rate under $1K (none of which was a simple sensor cleaning or replacement which is likely). We needed to contact a plumber in a hurry as our water heater failed and leaked water all over our lower level. As it is a busy time of year - the first appointment wasn't available until 4 days from the time of incident. After communicating with the sales person our situation, they were able to work with a technician who was able to work a bit longer over the weekend to assist us in getting our heater replaced in a more timely manner. Pavel Murashev was our technician and he arrived promptly and was extremely professional the entire time. He was able to save us some money, based upon our ultimate needs and future requirements. Within a few hours, we were completely back up with hot water, with a system that was far superior than what we had previously, and a guarantee for 10 years.

Mark Ochoa came out from Gene Johnson plumbing, heating and electric to do a plumbing inspection of our home. He was thorough and professional, but also friendly and informative. It's great to know what needs to be done in our aging home. I highly recommend their monthly service contract that give HVAC, plumbing and electrical inspections on a schedule so you have a chance to deal with things before you end up with a big problem.. We would definitely love to have Mark come back for our next plumbing inspection. 5 stars all the way!

I needed a new boiler and a hot water heater for a 110-year-old house. Chad Hendrix from Gene Johnson was very professional, knowledgeable, agreeable and efficient, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He thoroughly explained the system he was installing. This project took over a week of full-time work and he made an especial point to always tell me when he would arrive and to give a run-down of the work he’d done at the end of each day. Chad truly loves his job. And when your job is his job, it’s a win/win.
