Gardenkeepers of Virginia

We had a pretty terrible experience with Gardenkeepers for a land clearing/excavation project. For the initial land clearing, they had a very hard time reading a map from the surveyor with very clear markings to determine where to clear, and I had to meet them at the property several times to help them point out clear markers and restate what we wanted cleared even though we provided everything in writing. After they finished the final grade, our contractor let us know that the outside of our house would not pass inspection due to the poor grading near the house (they didn’t seem aware of any local codes). Gardenkeepers has done, and is currently doing, several large hardscape projects for us, with some landscaping. We continued to be extremely pleased with the final design and execution of our ideas and sketches.

Disappointing - As a client of Gardenkeepers of Virginia, I experienced a lack of clarity in service visit expectations, a missed service visit, and no accountability for their poor communication and scheduling errors. I had hoped their services would ease the strain of yard work and maintain a lovely environment, not add stress and disappointment.

We contracted gardenkeepers to mulch and weed our beds. My husband also bought a miniature maple and some arborvitaes which gardenkeepers planted for us. The miniature maple did not look healthy and I called about it a couple days later. I was told that it would leaf out fine and they would come trim it when it did. It never leafed out fine. Several calls were made to them about it and I was told I didn't water it enough, watered it too much, needed to fertilize it. I followed all instructions they gave me. This month I had a nursery person look at it and they said half the tree was dead. My husband was under the impression there was a one year warranty. He was never told otherwise. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fair prices. I prefer shopping local rather than big box. It's a nice drive in the country too. Picked up a few ground covers and other quality plants for my very shady yard and dyi landscaping project.
