Geek Squad

Personal one on one with Geek Squad in Missoula has been favorable. Making the appointment and going in was doable and service was good. HOWEVER, the 800 number for Geek Squad gets you a call center in Asia, with possible unsavory scammers. Elderly neighbor had one go into her computer, tell her she had ransom ware, then told her people were filtering money out of her bank accounts. I came over, called the banks, was told nothing was happening and to unplug from the scammer who was trying to leech money from her. He called back twice until I asked him how he could sleep at night and were his parents proud of him. He hung up. She had to buy a new computer.

I brought my blind client in and his phone had went haywire. The stuff he uses on a daily basis wasn't working. ANGUS, one of the guys there was so nice and helpful!! We appreciate you!!

This is for non local non-local Geek Squad. The local guys are pretty good. We bought a home theater about 9 days ago. The 1-800 Geek Squad # is a joke. There is usually at least a 30 minute wait and you might get a guy who knows less then we do which happened to us. Another time we put our number in to be called back. When they called back there was no one on the line. Tried the chat but the guy was eating a pizza or something - took him a very long time to respond and at one point chat went dead. Think long and hard for support like this. At $300.00 for "silver package" we got taken for a ride.

Terrible service. Zero stars. My daughter called in and they said they would remove 2 screws within 20 minutes max if I came in. Drive across town, traveling cross country, and was told I would have to leave overnight! Not possible! Charge would be $39.99 to remove two easy to access screws! What a joke! Stay far away.

I've had numerous bad experiences working with Geek Squad. First one was regarding a broken phone that took over 2 months to get it straightened out (Apple eventually had to eat the cost of a new iPhone because Best Buy lied to me about Apple Care). I spent two months and over 50 hours on the phone between the Missoula store, Geek Squad's 1800 number, Missoula's Apple Store, Verizon Wireless, and the 1800 Apple number. It was a 2 month endless loop of calls, transfers, holds, and disconnects....Someone from Apple is finally who ended up helping me, not Best Buy or Geek Squad who I had purchased my phone AND the Apple Care through. I had computer problems last fall, and purchased a new extended warranty for my laptop (around $300). They had to replace my hard drive (another $200). I receiv
