Gibson Home Inspection

It really does pain me to give somebody who seemed like a very nice person such a negative review, however, I’m hoping Skip Gibson takes this to heart. I’m leaving him two stars instead of one (ETA: switched to one star since the humidity this summer has increased the copious mold content in my finished basement which has deemed it unusable. I blame Skip for not alerting us since I pointed out this concern during the inspection.). My first suggestion is, if he is conducting your home inspection, make SURE you follow him around to every area of the house with a checklist of your own. This was our second mistake. As a first time home buyer the inspection is probably the scariest part of the home buying process. I felt like Skip did a great job explaining the procedure of the inspection and giving advice on preventative maintenance. Whenever we found a potential issue he didn't over exaggerate, which helped me stay calm. His approach made an intimidating thing turn into an educational one and an introduction to my new home! Skip is very diligent in his work as a home inspector. He explains what he finds during the inspection in layman’s terms and provides a solution to any issues he finds.
