GLC Waterproofing

Our basement started seeping shortly after we moved in. We got a few bids, ranging dramatically in price, and also found that everyone had a different solution. Finally settled on GLC. The first guy who did the work was actually great and did a good job, but then he left the company right afterwards for unknown reasons. A few weeks later, we had another problem after a very heavy storm, so we called them back. John, the owner, came to the house and talked to my husband. Said we needed a sump pump and spontaneously reduced the price from $2700 down to $1800. Then said we have to remove our built-in shelves. The owner showed up early and let himself into the house. Explained very well what would be done to stop the water from leaking into our basement. Told us two days to do the work. We informed him of several pipes in the ground. He said no problem, guys with shovels to do the digging. He dug the whole yard up with a machine, damaged and broke several pipes as well as other immovable objects on the property. Took twice as long as he said to do the work. After he finished, the first time it rained the water was pouring in worse than before. When I called them to get some assistance, their answering machine said they were closed indefinitely. Ken is a cordial guy but it seemed that his expertise in waterproofing basements was lacking and the information defaulted to John Battaglia, the owner. At the time of the second visit, John approved all of our requests and provided a walkthrough of what would be done to the basement. Within a month after the final walkthrough, John and his team conducted a foundation reinforcement and sump pump installation. It was a time consuming and messy job.
