It was a pleasure working with Shane and his crew on our backyard project and we couldn’t be happier with the results! His knowledge is extensive and the thoughtfulness he applies to the design process is impressive. He considers how the client will use the space, and then factors in important details like the amount of sun/shade, drainage, seasonal changes and when to use evergreens, maturity and aging process, etc. He knows the region and selects native plants that will thrive. Shane gave us different price point options and helped us prioritize the various components of the project and stay in budget. We are thoroughly enjoying our new patio, garden area, hot tub, and beautiful landscaping that now surrounds the back of the house. Highly recommend Groundswell Landscape!

We had an exceptional experience with Groundswell Landscape LLC. From start to finish, Shane Mahoney and his team brought creativity, craftsmanship, and true professionalism to our project. We asked them to design and build an outdoor room—an extension of our home—and they exceeded every expectation. The scope was landscape design, hardscape installation, and planting installation. We reached out to Shane and Groundswell Landscape this past fall/winter because we knew our small, L-shaped yard could be much more enjoyable. We had a rough idea of what we wanted: an additional patio and fire pit, plantings that could thrive in the shade of a large maple tree in our backyard, and a retaining wall along the edge of our yard. Worked with Shane and his crew over the summer and could not have been happier with the result. We knew we wanted a patio and to give our front yard some curb appeal, but had no idea how to go about it. Shane talked with us through many ideas and for hardscape and plantings helping to guide us to a design that we were happy and was in our budget. Once the project began, Shane's crew came to the site every day. They were hardworking and put up with our many questions. Subcontractors (irrigation, electrician) were always on time and easy to work with. Groundswell designed and built our front steps, front walkway and front plantings (spring 2020). The design is unique and tasteful and in keeping with the style of the house. The owner, Shane, knows his plants well and selected a beautiful assortment of plantings that are growing very nicely; many of them native, which we had asked for. The crew was hardworking and showed up everyday and on time. Shane was very responsive and knowledgeable. We are very happy with the outcome and will likely hire them to do future jobs.
