I am deeply grateful for this company’s respectful attitude and aloha spirit towards its customers. Two separate components in our solar hot water heater systems failed (factory defect), and additionally, an issue arose associated with installation timing, that required replacement of our roof (not company fault). The company had, at all times, done a good job it was just spectacularly bad luck --- for us, **and** for Hawaiian Solar and Plumbing. Nevertheless, Hawaiian Solar and Plumbing never had an attitude, never got snarky or critical --- they just replaced the defective components, and worked with us while we repaired our roof. We were disappointed that when the technicians showed up to inspect the system (because our electric bill had gone up considerably), we expected that they would climb onto the roof to inspect the hot water heater. In the past some years back, when we had a much higher electric bill and we called for a system check, when the technicians arrived, they climbed onto the roof, inspected the hot water heater and told us that we needed a new hot water heater. We expected a similar inspection but they did not climb on the roof this time and they told us that there would be no charge for the visit. They did suggest that our refrigerator in our garage might be the issue. They then said there would be no charge and left. The whole visit, they were here for less than 15 minutes. A few days later

Our condo came with an existing solar hot water system. However, we postponed the anode service required to maintain the system, and then, while we were out of town, our water pressure reducer valve failed: consequently, one of our solar panels failed and was leaking down our roof. Given the age of our existing system, Hawaiian Solar bid an entire new system and, with minimal wait time, installed in one day two Solarhart panels and a Rheem tank. Installation was cleanly and professionally done, and the installing employees talked us through the various settings on our new hot water tank. Awesome company to work with! Zach was our technician, showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the issue with my water tank, gave me a fair price to fix it on the spot. No return trip, had the parts on his truck. Highly recommend them!!
