Hay Runner

I’ve spent around $7,500 with Hay Runner over the past few years—glad to pay a bit of a premium for convenience and service. Scott is solid and does good work. Unfortunately, when I submitted a request for a small window project recently, I was completely ignored for three weeks. I followed up by phone several times before I was told I’d need to pay $195 just for someone to visit the site—even as a standing customer. I understand charging for time, but it was disappointing to get zero follow-up until I chased it, and then to be quoted what felt like a brush-off fee for a basic consultation. If this is how long-time customers are treated, I can’t recommend them anymore.

After working with them nearly two years, they dropped the ball during the most critical time of our home and structural remodeling project. To be fair, the owner did offer to meet with us again about the issues but after so many problems we just chose to cut our loses and manage the major phase of the work ourselves before looking for a new contractor, which is what we've done. Our project manager was typically M.I.A., not at all tuned-in to are needs or concerns and also doubled at the company architect, so project management wasn't their forte to begin with. We spent months begging for a breakdown of timeline, a project plan, costs, but nothing like that, after all that time, was ever provided. Excellent experience! A handyman was available within a week of my request and he did excellent work. Although there is a $50 dispatch fee, they are willing to tackle small jobs. I would definitely recommend their services.

After many dropped communications and false promises with other contractors for electrical work, Hay Runner came through for us with responsive communication and prompt, professional service. They did an excellent job and finally having a reliable contractor on hand for projects as they arise is a relief.

I'm a DYI guy. I have all the tools and most of the skill and handy friends to do just about anything. We had a leak in our condo from the bathroom upstairs. It was an insurance job and the owners upstairs brought in Hay Runner. They showed up when they said they would. They were all professional and did what they said they would do and the repair was of the quality I would have done. We are redoing our bathroom and are considering using them for the job. I'm 63 and retired and would be happy not to do the work since it seems like we have found a professional reliable group that can. My wife is meeting with their designers. So far a great experience and would highly recommend Hay Runner.
