10 out of 10 and exceeded our expectations. We had a deck put in our backyard 3 years ago and used the wrong waterproofing stain. It was acrylic based so I would apply a coat or 2 every year due to normal wear/tear and weather conditions. Most recently, there was a few high foot traffic areas where the paint was chipping off. After doing some research, what we should have used is at least a semi transparent and oil based stain. I attempted to remove the old stain myself with the Behr stain stripper and heavy duty deck brush, but quickly realized the job was too big for me and we needed to hire a professional. I don't usually take the time to leave reviews, but in this instance I felt it important to do so. I recently used Hayward Pro to replace a 30 year old redwood deck with a new composite deck. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Rafael and his team did an excellent job and followed my specifications exactly. The customer service and responsiveness was outstanding, and the quality of their work superior. I will definitely use them for projects in the future.

Our deck project required a lot of complicated engineering and design skill to work with our requirements. This was not a simple build. It also had to be able to survive well in the salt air of the Coastside so we required stainless steel for all connections. I highly recommend Rafael and Hayward Pro Painting. Rafael recently replaced all (4) of our old rotting decks with new composite decks. He was very attentive to the deck structure and made sure to fix any underlying issues. His attention to detail resulted in great looking decks. The quality is of the highest standards: from the exact placement of the boards to the paint color matching. His workers were extremely polite, clean, and helpful. And the icing on the cake was that they were dog friendly which made the day to day a lot easier. One of the best contractors I have had in 35 years in the bay area.
