Higgins Chair Caning

I inherited the dining room table and chairs that my grandparents received as a wedding gift about 100 years ago. All of the rushed chair seats were completely rotted out with large holes and loose straps. I took them to Higgins Chair Caning to be repaired. She re-did the rushing and all of the chairs are now beautiful and usable again! She does incredibly beautiful work. I highly recommend Higgins Chair Caning in Staunton if you need any furniture repaired! She also sells a lot of antiques as well. She is a true craftsman! And her work is very affordable. Alice did a great job on this antique hickory rocker that needed complete recaning. She was prompt and completed the job ahead of schedule. The quality of her work was outstanding. The price was fair for the required work. HIghly recommended! Thanks Alice!!

We needed the seat of our rocker/glider recaned. Alice did a beautiful job. The pattern was intricate and she matched it perfectly. We highly recommend her.

After examination and photos, Alice agreed to re-cane two refinished sitting chairs. After 4 months she contacted me again to tell me she could not complete the work to her satisfaction and returned the chairs to me unfinished. I'm happy she did not return them with poor work (3 stars for that), but did not receive the service I expected.

Alice did a marvelous job refinishing and restoring three large pieces of furniture I have that are made of woven binder cane. I was so grateful for her expertise and I was thrilled with the results! And pick-up and delivery made it all very easy.
