I will give them one star because at the beginning they did help with a heating issue and provided a temporary fix. However when it came to the larger fix the experience was terrible. I believe we were greatly overcharged and as other reviews share the communication was terrible. After giving him thousands of dollars we had to trick him once to get back to us. He eventually did finish the job which was way over budget and still has not provided me with the warranty for my new condenser or a refund for the work he did not complete which I had to pay someone else to do. I would say if you hire this company you will need to be there to watch every move and I would not pay him until he finishes the complete job and provides all documentation.

Called Hyde's Appliance and Heating to help repair a refrigerator. Richard the Owner of Hyde's answered our call and was responsive in getting to our refrigerator. His personality reveals he's been burned by past customers and he's not shy in revealing this fact. You can expect him to require payment up front at the time of his service under the guise of weeding out those who are honest from those who are not...we're not sure if this temperament changes with time. You can expect to be billed for: 1. A service call/Inspection $45 (as of the time of this post) 2. Hours of Labor @ a rate of $120/hr (as of the time of this post) 3. Repair Parts 4. Freight. Excellent response time. Extremely professional. I saw some complain about turn around time in the reviews - I’m not sure what universe they live in - but a week or more is extremely normal. I’ve felt lucky in the past to have a three week turnaround depending on the time of year with other HVAC providers and the longest with Hyde’s has been a week. Highly recommended and he stand’s by his work. I have never been charged for superfluous work or time.

Poor customer service and all about making a buck! He ordered a part for my stove that was not the same manufacturer. Within two weeks the stove 'blew' and also blew a fuse in my home. Now he wants me to buy an entire new stove - with no apology or discount. I would have bought a new stove then if he had not pushed the replacement part which cost almost $700. Stay away! Ps. His response is a lie! He recommended replacing the top not the entire stove! And the top he put in was not the same brand - so seemed to cause the entire stove to short just one week later!

So our 3 yo refrigerator started freezing our food. What to do but call an appliance guy. Got Hyde to come. Did an investigation cost $100. Said get a thermometer for refrigerator and report back. Did that said he needed to order control panel must wait for delivery. Took a week to get part, but I had to call him to find that out. Then I got a lot of lip service about how busy he was blah blah blah. He came squeezed us in at the end of his busy day and put in panel. Guess what didn’t work. Now he needs to order something else. Seriously how long can a person live without a fridge. Poor communication and quite frankly over confident. Ultimately it was easier to order a new refrigerator but this time I got the extended warranty. I think this guy is burnt out. He needs his control panel recon
