UPDATE: 8/7/2025 The owner of IBD had the audacity to star at my front door and tell me “they don’t run irrigation while it rains” despite the evidence I presented. He chose to lie and gaslight me as a customer than correct the issue. This is the type of customer experience you will get with IBD. Leadership that only cares about revenue. Original post: Absolute garbage of a company. We spent over $10k installing remote monitoring, weather monitoring and remote shut off options to our irrigation and IBD has refused to employ any of these features. We have had 8 days of rain 2”+ and still IBD runs our irrigation, even while it is raining. We’ve made multiple phone calls requesting rain holds, and the irrigation continued to cycle on/off. I have worked with a few different sprinkler companies over the years and I have had mixed results. That is until I called Irrigation by Design. Not only do they do impecable work, the professionalism and communication is beyond anything I would have expected from a sprinkler company. I strongly recommend them!

Please be forewarned that Irrigation by Design does not warranty their work. After living in our home for 11years, they had to do an isolation valve rebuild for our sprinkler system at the end of July 2023 due to a leak causing water to pool. The cost was around $1500.00. In June 2024, we had pooling in the same area. IBD was no longer contracted by our neighborhood as we had moved to Friedges. Friedges addressed the issue and when they dug up the same area, there was a leak at the isolation valve again. IBD is not warranting their work from last July, which was clearly a poor “rebuild”. It is very disappointing (but not surprising) to say the very least. Poor business practice.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would! We signed up for a maintenance plan - did not show up for spring startup appointment, then when rescheduled (after hounding them for three weeks) they charged extra for appointments supposed to be covered under the plan. Now its been two months that they wont even respond to cancelling the contract when we have emailed and left multiple voice messages. We now have to get our credit card company to pursue it - such an unnecessary hassle!

Be cautious with this company. They have some good people but clearly others who need more training and maybe some time with a much more simple job. I called asking for a quote on installation. Instead a winterizing crew showed up. They were apologetic and said they had been having some trouble with the back office. Finally someone called to talk about quotes but said she had to get back to me. She didn't for some time and I hired another company who did a good job installing the system. Then Irrigation By Design sent me a bill for a winterizing they did not do on a system that did not exist. They have now sent me the bill three times and called me once. I've told them multiple times that they didn't provide this service yet they persist. Be cautious.
