I had a perfect experience working with Nancy McCarren, AIA, LEED AP, on my kitchen remodel. Nancy's design resulted in a more usable workspace with more countertop space and storage and her advice with the selection of cabinets, countertop, flooring and fixtures was invaluable. She took into account my budget and personal peferences and has made my kitchen a joy to use everyday.

We have been thinking of updating our kitchen for years, but it took the wise, organized and great team at Jennifer Gilmer to help us finally make it happen. Nancy is a fantastic architect who thinks about the big picture and the small details. Her partner, our designer Alison did the hard work of helping us figure out all of the different elements that go into a kitchen. We were lucky to have their help in figuring out how to make the most of a small-ish DC kitchen. Would recommend them to anyone who is thinking about a new kitchen.

We recently completed our third project with Nancy McCarren as our architect and each experience is better than the last. We had three bathrooms completely renovated at the same time and everything was seamless. The inevitable glitches were handled smoothly and the project was completed on time. But most important, Nancy helped us determine how best to modernize our original 70 year old bathrooms while keeping them reflective of the rest of the house. They look like they were always there. Nancy also secured a terrific contractor who was responsive and a pleasure to have in our home.

Our kitchen designer was Sarah Turner and she was a pleasure to deal with and she did a fantastic job. She offered us a truly unique idea which made our kitchen larger than we believed possible and gave us much more storage space than expected. She suggested a waterfall table at the end of an island, which enables us to seat 3 for meals and extended the work area when necessary. In a different but complimentary stone, the island is a conversation piece. From the floor to ceiling, everything chosen was perfect. Her suggested general contractor was a pleasure to deal with and took care of everything.
