LAZ Parking - Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina

Blustery cold November and boy were we taken for a ride!! Try to avoid this lot! I was trying to take my 83 year old mom out for dinner, and we could not find any parking within a reasonable walk, so thought we would pay a “little” bit more to park. (Keep in mind the town of Newport RI does not charge to park in November) This little bit more was more than my meal!!! It was at night, off season. So upset! I wish I had seen this thread earlier. Upon entering the sign says “Public Parking”, its so dark at the kiosk, you can’t read the worn out rates. That should have been a warning. At exit they do not take cash. Tried the help button and nothing happened. Unfortunately I was forced to use my credit card, just hope it was not compromised, given the isolation of this spot. DO NOT use this lot

No price/ rate signs anywhere to be found at the parking lot, except a credit card reader. You need to swipe the same card as you time stamp. 1 hour and about 10 minutes later my parking fee was 25.68. Every other lot in Newport is free after 11/1! Total rip off… Stay away

I wish I had read these reviews first..........NO rates posted at entrance, $60 for 3hrs and 44 min. Needed close parking for a 90 year old mother, well I thought I did a good deed just wasn't ready to be ROBBED by a parking lot.

$75 for 7 hours! Rate is not disclosed at the entrance rather it says “public parking” misleading you to think it’s like city parking. It is not.

Adding to the 1-star reviews for assuming it’s a municipal lot and resulting in a $75 for 6 hours!
