The customer service at the Essex store would need to improve dramatically just to be pathetic. We purchased a new toilet on Lowes.com, and got a notification when it came in. My wife went down to pick it up, and the box they brought out had tape on it that said "DAMAGED." She could actually hear the broken pieces rolling around inside the box. The worker then asked if she wanted the half that wasn't broken. HUH?? So, then we waited for a replacement for more than a month. Zero communication from Lowes about the status. I called at least three times and all I got was a lot of excuses that it was out of their control because of "the vendor." They actually invited me to call the vendor and deal with them myself. I don't think Lowe's understand what the words "customer service" means. Look,
Employees here act like they are working on a construction site and completely forget that they’re working retail. People at the customer service desk are great and helpful, everyone else not so much. They actively try to ignore you or hide. They literally look away as you walk by them and if you find someone and finally get to ask where to find something, they make a big show of pulling out their phone and opening the Lowe’s app to hint that the customer can do this themselves. It’s retail guys, you’re selling products. You’re not on a job site so stop acting like you’re too busy moving things around with your fork lift and little flags.
We had ordered a shower base, walls and back from the S. Burlington Lowes- paid $80 for delivery. We got a base delivered and that was it. Upon calling the S.B. Lowes they told us they had it marked as 'walk out' but we did not take the product and told them that which they realized quickly because they sold us "negative stock". The person assisting us, Jack, said he would call around and see if he could locate the other pieces and call us back. Did Jack call us back? No, sir, no he did not. We pop into the Essex Lowes and Zach and Isaiah were around and offered to help us find the pieces we had purchased and behold there they sat on the shelf. I went up on Thanksgiving eve. It wasn't too busy and they welcomed my well behaved dog! I was looking for shower panels and the salesman was very helpful. No pressure to buy when I explained that I would share the email with my contractor first! Offered to deliver too! I will hopefully be making my purchase here! :)
I love shopping at Lowes, but I would never ever again go through one of their installation services. I ordered a door in June, and the installation company they hire (called Integrity Irst Installations) scheduled an appointment in September. They never showed up, so I scheduled a second appointment woth them for the following week. They never showed up. I rescheduled a 3rd appointment for the end of October and they never showed up. In the meantime, I'm calling them and they're trying to tell me nice things like they'll "loop in management" etc. End of October no call no show, then they tell Lowes my project is complete (so now I dont think I can even return my door if they think it's installed). I call them and we reschedule a 4th appointment for Nov 6, no call no show. I call them that
