Towards the end of summer, I framed a flat roof for our patio and hired Luis and Mac Roofing to handle the installation of the sheathing, several skylights, and a modified bitumen roof. I was extremely impressed with their attention to detail. During the install, they carefully removed and replaced existing shingles to ensure the new flat roof was properly tied into the main roof structure, ensuring there will be no future leaks. While prepping for the new roof, they found a small crack in the valley flashing and were able to replace it before it caused any damage. Luis and Mac Roofing just completed my 24 year old original roof replacement recently. I can't say enough good things about the work they completed. Luis is is knowledgeable and does the job right. In addition to just doing the roof, he also made sure to address and fix improper ventilation issues in my attic space from exhaust fans. Although his quote was slightly higher than others I received I know that in the long run I saved money because once the old shingles were removed, there was extensive damage to some of the plywood sheets. They communicated throughout the process, worked with us to get exactly the roof and gutters we wanted, and were a pleasure to have around. I highly recommend Mac Roofing, I called Luis yesterday when I found water leaking through the drywall in our dining room. Luis was prompt and returned my call, he told me that he’d be here shortly and was at my home within the hour. He did a thorough investigation inside my attic and found where the roof was leaking from, he got on the roof found out why it was leaking and since he didn’t have my color of shingle with him, he put metal flashing up under the shingles to prevent it from continuing to leak. He also told me that my gutters needed to be cleaned because they were weighing down the gutters, he used his tool and scraped a thick chunk of muck to show me how dirty they were. Mac Roofing just completed a partial roofing job for me. Luis was very thorough in explaining the process to me. I only needed about half of my home reroofed at the time and he was quite gracious in understanding what I wanted. Luis and his workers did an excellent job of stripping and re-shingling the roof followed by a thorough clean up. I was on the roof with them on occasion, not to check them as much as I just wanted to see my own roof without shingles hiding the sheathing. I did some minor repairs myself just because I am that kind of guy. As a former inspector of 37 years I was very pleased with what I saw and am confident that Luis and his crew did and excellent job at an acceptable price.
