Jon came out to investigate and determine if recent gas-like smells that lasted through the past couple of nights were furnace related. Following thorough inspections and testing, he explained and showed me what he was testing in the unit for my info and peace of mind after losing 2 nights of slee and dealing with moderate headaches from whatever this is. Jon provided instruction by showing me the shut off areas for the gas if it should happen again and then to call Mattex for an apt the next business day if this occurrs after 9 pm. Because of the extreme cold weather we are having, I was concerned that my thermostat was working like it should. Called and an technician from Mattex came out the next day. He was very friendly and listened to all my concerns. He even went through all the steps on the thermostat and explained the functions and settings and gave suggestions on how to improve the airflow of my house. Very satisfied.

I had asked for an estimate for a standby generator. Last monththe first technician came was nice enough, but I wasn't pleased with his estimate or his idea to install the generator by the road. Snowplows would demolish it the first snowfall and beside that, I don't own that piece of land. Asked for 2nd estimate and he came today. I greeted him with a handshake and comment on our nice weather. This guy was obnoxious and rude and talked down to me. Mattex? Never again. $33,000 for a standby generator??
