Maxwell Hardwood Floors

Sean was very responsive and provided a clear quote detailing the options. He gave advice and pros and cons for each option so we were fully informed. We went with new hardwood floors that were stained and finished on site. He removed the old flooring and addressed all the squeaks before laying the new flooring. Sean explained all the details and nuances so we could understand how the floor fit to the house/walls/door jambs/vents etc. Worked in an organized fashion keeping the area clean and neat. Sean provided advice on color and stained / lacquered part of the floor so we could get a feel for our choice before committing to the final stain. Sean and his team did a beautiful job on our floors. We had existing red oak floors in two rooms with two different stains and finishes that we wanted to be re-finished in addition to new hardwood they installed in two rooms. We hired Maxwell Hardwood to refinish our existing hardwood which covers the entire first floor of our home. We also requested the installation of new hardwood to replace a plywood inlay in our main living room in a herringbone pattern. Our tastes prefer a lighter, more neutral/natural wood tone that typically comes with white oak. However, we discovered that we have a blend of white oak in some rooms and red oak in others. Based on some research, we had some concerns with trying to refinish to a natural look while maintaining a consistent appearance across both the red and white oak.
