Millenial Garage (Colonial Parking)

My car was stolen from this "24/7 Monitored" garage. What made it worse was the staff's response — or complete lack thereof. I've been a monthly permit holder since July. Months ago, they slapped a tow notice on my car because it hadn't moved in a couple weeks — without even checking their own system to see I was a paying customer. Fast forward to Saturday: I show up, my car is gone. No one in the office. I find an employee who is dismissive, refuses to give me the towing company's name, refuses to call the operations manager, and ultimately just tells me to call the police. Here is the deal with parking validation as of 5/21/25: If you see a movie at the AMC theater next door, take your parking ticket with you. They will put it into their validation machine after you see a movie. Then, you can insert your parking ticket at a pay station and it will give you up to 4 hours of parking for $11. It's not very generous but it's better than paying full rate. If you don't have a validated ticket it can get pretty expensive.

This is terrible. They should at least take down the sign on the garage if they're not going to honor the validation or even try to fix the machine to address this problem. I'm going to file the complaint with AMC corporate to see if they will at least cut ties and cancel their contract association with this garage. I will also leave a complaint with the BBB and DC OAG Consumer Mediation Program. FYI, I listed all these organizations in this comment intentionally so everyone can see them. MOVIE-GOERS: There's something odd and racket-like given the validation device in the AMC Georgetown theatre alongside the Ritz Colonial Parking garage does NOT work (RED light means go, GREEN light means stop - LITERALLY on the box), leading you to run back/forth between garage and lobby multiple times. Staff told me "...yeah, that happens all the time, hit the CALL button to get help at the kiosk." Of course, no one answers! Bottom line, don't expect your movie validation to work unless both parties make deliberate changes. That means you're paying an extra $22 per car for one movie, folks! - May 2024.

This garage is not well attended. I tried calling for assistance at the payment box and at the exit. No answer. I then went to the office to see if anyone was there. No one was there. There’s no cell phone reception down there so you have to park and go upstairs to call the number found on the box (as your time is still increasing). No help there either because they can’t assist remotely for this a garage. After telling me someone would come there, the lady on the phone hung up abruptly, and I had to wait about two hours for someone to come from another location to assist.
