I have never seen such poor customer service. My initial appointment was scheduled for a Thursday, but the plumber did not come in the first time and his "truck broke down" the second. Nothing was EVER communicated to me... I had to keep calling the office to try to discern what was happening. When the plumber finally showed up on Tuesday, my water heater issue was not resolved and no one even attempted to let me know what was going on or if they were even coming back. I spent two days calling the emergency number and the business line. I was initially told that "someone would call me back" but the phones were interestingly going straight to voicemail for the two days after that. I don't know how this company gets chosen to work with warranty companies. The warranty company for the home that we rent contacted Nichols Plumbing and a technician was sent to my home. He arrived, was pleasant, did what he was supposed to, but had to return the next day with fuses they normally don't carry (I have an old, tankless water heater...). That's fine. He then determined that it was the heating element going bad, which again, they do not carry locally. A week passed by, leaving myself and my three young children without hot water. When I call the warranty company, the required report from the technician was never given to them and replacement parts, which needed to be ordered direct from the manufacturer, could not be ordered without that. Nichols Plumbing was contacted through my home warranty company for a leaking pipe. They had nothing available within the week and I was leaving town. The dispatcher was able to work me in and I was told I would be called at least 30 minutes prior to the plumber arriving. This never happened and I was told that he had stopped by with no one home. When I called them to find out what was going on, they told me they wouldn't be able to get out to my house until I got back over the weekend. If a pipe is leaking and ruining hardwood floors I wouldn't really want to wait a week to figure it out. But hey, that's just me... I had my home warranty folks switch plumbers and thats the end of that. I would not recommend Nichols Plumbing.

I have to share my experience with Nichols Plumbing because of all the negative reviews that I have read. Nichols was dispatched by my home warranty company. Patrick came an hour early. Diagnosed the problem and explained my options. My warranty company denied the claim due to the location of the leak. Patrick quoted a price that was less than other plumber in Fayetteville by 33%. The only delay to Nichol's repair was due to No Cuts and the utilities who report to them. As soon as the utilities were marked, Patrick and his son came out and replaced the line. I could not have asked for a better job. My theory about the negative reviews is that the company does some work for home warranty companies and is swamped by calls. I also had the unfortunate experience of being referred to them by my home warranty company to fix a broken/leaking garbage disposal. They never called to schedule an appointment. At this time I have called over 10 times, and left 3 messages with my home, work, and cell numbers. I never got a call back, and nobody ever answered the phone. After looking them up online and reading the reviews, I decided to ask to be assigned to another vendor. When I called my home warranty company, they informed me that the work order was "COMPLETED" by the vendor. This place is so unprofessional. Thankfully I have been re-assigned to a new company and will never ever attempt to give them my money again.
