Observation Tower - Brazos Bend State Park

A LOT of good hiking trails. A LOT of wildlife, mostly birds. Very, very friendly & knowledgeable staff.

Great place to view wildlife at Brazos Bend, my one complaint is that it’s been a tad crowded each time I’ve went there.

Awesome observation tower just three stories really well constructed wooden observation tower. They have a bike pump below great place photos.

Many birds around. The tower structure was shaky (not much one could do about it). Alligators were basking close by. I would recommend the trails and avoid the tower when there are many people around (not sure about the capacity of the structure -- not very strong winds could shake it).

It was great having so many birders out today and their willingness to share their knowledge with others about all the birds we were seeing. Even had park volunteers out watching and talking about the alligator which was sunning itself along the bank with her 30 baby alligators not to far off. The babies are about 4 months old and was a great sight for the young kids to be so close but yet safe. Lots of ducks, egrets, and other birds around the area this weekend also.
