My wife and I purchased a new home in a community in Lewes Delaware 18 months ago. Our garage door opener started to malfunction approximately a week ago. I contacted the builder of the community to request information on who installed the garage door and opener. I didn't get an immediate response so, after a couple of days, we decided to call another local company that was recommended to us by our neighbor who had his garage door repaired the previous month. He told us he had to have his springs replaced. I contacted the company and the service man came the same day. After checking things out he advised that we would need new springs and the cost would be $750. We set up an appointment for the installation. Later that same day I received the information from the builder about the company

Called overheaddoor to schedule for garage door repair. Overhead told us that Monday is possible for them to come look at it with no talk of $120 charge. My wife told them we will call them to confirm Monday appointment. They came in for lookout with no appointment(my wife mistakenly thought I made an appointment but I didn't), they looked at the door and say they can't repair this and will charge us $120. I don't mind giving $120 but they should have told us in advance about the charge and should have confirm the appointment. I still gave them my card information to charge but VERY VERY BAD COMPANY. They made me feel like I am kind of a guy who likes to take advantage of situation and not pay for service. Will never go or recommend any one to use them.

Need garage door repair service? I'm recommending Overhead Door Co. of Delmar. They went above and beyond to provide great service to me in replacing the tortion spring that cracked in half after being installed when our house here in Lewes Crossing was built in 2015. So we got 8 years out of the spring, and a neighbor told me a few days ago that she knew of 4 or 5 other houses on my block where the spring had cracked within the last few months. I worked with Dawn in their office throughout the project and she was fantastic. When the bill came in somewhat over the estimate the technician was able to explain why in understandable language, and when I called Dawn she agreed to a very reasonable adjustment to the final bill. Overhead Door installed our home's garage door 10 years ago. Since that time we have had them out two times for repairs and both times we were extremely please with their service. Most recently on Thursday, 1/28/16 I contact their office to report that some how our door had become out of plumb. In talking with the office on 1/29 they advised they would have someone out that afternoon. Since we were not going to be home we left our side garage door open and when we did return we were very pleased to find their technician had been there and completely correct the problem. Our door is now totally level with no air leaks at the interface point of the bottom seal and the garage apron.

Asked to set up a date for repair and was told 6 weeks out for next appointment. They took down my information and never heard back from them at the 6 week mark. Sad part is it’s been over a year. Oh well guess my money will be spent with a competitor
