We’ve now lived in our new home for a year, and every day we’re grateful for the work of Noah Modie, Architect, and Oxbow Design Build. From the start, we dreamed of a single level, Finnish Lake House–inspired home on our pond that would also be ADA-compliant so we could age in place without significant modifications if we needed it. Noah absolutely nailed it. He kept every detail in mind, including our goal of making the house highly energy efficient and net zero, which has truly paid off. We just received a preliminary HERS and Energy Star efficiency report from our independent energy use consultant; our house is beyond “net zero,” it’s rating is -3! Oxbow worked on a major renovation for my house - gutting old space, reinforcing the framing, building a balcony, finishing the railings and floors. Also built a beautiful huge dining room table of reclaimed wood for my new dining room. I worked with them from start to finish - before I bought the house I brought them in for a consultation, and they oversaw all architecture, demolition, construction, and more (like the table). A pleasure to work with them, very reasonable cost, and a high degree of professionalism. Easy to work with. They took my vision and brought their own ideas as well - a positive collaboration. I would work with them again and highly recommend them. (In fact, I am working with them again - they are doing another smaller renovation in my house soon!)

My husband and I hired Noah at Oxbow Designs to design a new home to replace a small cottage by a pond. Noah was very responsive to our desire to bring the natural surroundings inside and create a space that was full of light with views of the pond and woods. When Noah presented us with his first drawings we were thrilled with his creativity and his ability to intuit exactly what we wanted. From then on he and his team worked closely with us to revise plans to further meet our needs. Noah was patient, thorough and professional every step of the way. We are very happy in our new home! People in our community are still remarking on how it sits so perfectly on the pond and blends in with the beautiful surroundings.

This past spring we had a major renovation of our home completed by Oxbow--three bathrooms, kitchen work and other smaller changes. From start to finish they were professional. They are also extremely creative with interesting and wonderful ideas. And most of all, they are easy to work with. Communication was clear from the initial meetings on. Once work began, they arrived each day on time, cleaned up at the end of each day and were easy to have around the house. When issues came up during the renovation, which they always do, they were able to offer great solutions that were within our budget. We're thrilled with the outcome and intend to use them again for a basement project in the near future. Couldn't have been happier. Update: We're having them come back to do some work in the home

This project finished right before winter 2020. Kitchen renno and integrate/winterize 3 season porch off of kitchen. Found Carl very communicative, honest, responsive, commitment to sustainability, and "went to the mat" with 3rd party suppliers to get things right. Excellent craftsmanship, excellent sub contractors (ex. electric, HVAC, etc) . Cannot tell the difference between custom made items (cabinets, shelving) and those ordered from 3rd party. Had an in-house designer to help us with our vision and our quirky circa1900 house.
