Paradise Pools by the Lake

Donnie Hogue whose company was formerly Xtreme Structures dug our pool Apr 1, 2020 and told us the work would be done in one week. As I signed the contract under the name "Xtreme Structures" I noticed he annotated a completion date of Oct 2020. I asked him why did he quote Oct if it's only going to take him one week and he stated the law requires you to give a 6mth timeframe, though it would only take one week. Donnie dug the pool and went weeks without any correspondence and would not return our phone calls. After calling Medallion, Ashley made contact with Donnie and he finally called us back and showed up the following week claiming the rain had him delayed. I understand it rained quite a bit in April however it didn't stop him from working and starting other pools. Fast forward to May

Donnie was very helpful with design and location of our pool, I was given a target date for the install which weather delayed for a couple of weeks but certainly understandable. Our hole was dug and a crew showed up a few days later to do the install. I was very pleased by the courtesy and respectfulness of the crew. These guys knew what they were doing! from start to completion was 5 days and my son went for a swim. After the install was complete they actually did the grading all around my yard which was not part of our agreement at no extra charge. Since our install we have enjoyed our pool and have not had any problems at all. I do recommend this company if you are looking for a pool. Top notch all the way!

After a terrible experience with a pool service out of Roanoake Rapids, I contacted Paradise Pools by the Lake. Donnie came out and was able to correctly replace the valve and took over opening the pool for summer use. He serviced the pool all summer and it’s in better shape than it’s ever been. He showed up when he said he would and provided excellent service. One weekend when my power went out and then came back on, I had to call him and ask how to change the time; he called me right back and answered my question. He is very knowledgeable and competent; he doesn’t add unnecessary chemicals just increase your bill.

Donnie Hogue, owner of Paradise Pools by the Lake, was recommended to me and my husband by Medallion Pools. He has been one of their recommended installers for many years. I interviewed several installers. My husband and I knew nothing about inground pool installation and felt out of our element hiring a pool installer. We chose Donnie because we immediately sensed that he was a professional that knew what he was doing. There are so many stories out there of "fly-by-night" installers, or ones who overbook projects, and just downright inept installers. Donnie was down-to-earth and wasn't trying to sell us anything. When you go to the store it is like going into a daycare center, toys all over, kids screaming you can't hear the lady behind the counter. They have a problem returning phone calls, When you talk to Donnie make sure you get everything in writing because when it comes to doing what he said he would do things change. The crew that installed the pool liner did a good job except they dumped the concrete patch material in the yard they didn't haul the old liner and new liner scraps away.
