Pella Windows & Doors - Warehouse Only

Product Grade: A Process Grade: D- Very happy with quality of Pella windows. I had 6 “picture” windows and 1 sliding glass door installed and they all look/function well. They’re expensive, but still competitive in the current market. Not happy at all with the “process” I went through to get my Pella products installed and finished-out. The good news…The sales process went fine (go figure) and the installation date was earlier than I expected. On the day of installation, the crew did a decent job, but didn’t have the paint/materials to finish the job…that’s when all the “fun” began. The project manager wasn’t reachable; I later learned he quit. His replacement was also unresponsive…no answer when called and voicemail was full. I've dealt with a lot of subcontractors in my work managing a light commercial building, but this company has been by far the very worst. I never even write reviews, let alone negative ones, but I am hopeful that this review can help someone avoid the pointless and expensive experience I had. Episode 1: Charged $180 to schedule a diagnostic visit. Told me they would call and email in the week leading up to let us know what time they would come, but that it would be between 8am and 4pm. They never called or emailed. On the scheduled date, they show up at 7:30am before our office hours begin, when no building manager had arrived yet. They leave. I called to reschedule. I sure hope the lady that drives the black Jeep Cherokee is not an example of the way this company operates. Tailgating while on the phone is very dangerous.

Forcing customers to get replacement parts through Lowes is cruel and unusual punishment. Why can't Pella screen doors not be simply ordered online through Pella? Trying to deal with the communications system and staff at Lowe's should be reserved as a special circle in hell for only the greatest offenders. No one picks up the phone or when they do pick up, they disconnect it right away (10x times at least, no kidding) and it’s near impossible to get someone to help you when you're in the store. When I finally was allowed to order the part needed, the wrong venting for the door was sent, forcing me to go through the whole process again. Still haven’t been able to reorder what’s needed from the Lowe’s error in over two hours of phone hell.

We Needed a Pella door repaired on our 20 year old French doors and the Pella customer service team worked tirelessly to find the right part, emailed us, and called us back three times to let us know the delivery status. Every company should follow this example. Well done Pella!!
