Pepper Construction handled a $28 million renovation of my high school, and while everything looked shiny and new on the surface when it was “finished,” it’s already falling apart — and it hasn’t even been that long. They clearly prioritized speed and cost-cutting over quality and durability. The materials used were shockingly cheap. The floors are literally squishy — which is as wrong as it sounds. The pool tiles started popping up and had to be completely redone because they apparently had no idea how to build a pool properly. That’s not a minor oversight when you’re hired for a job of this scale. One of the most ridiculous things? They used ⅛” drywall in many places — including behind door stoppers in the music department’s practice rooms. Every time a door closes, it slams right thro
