I have used the same oil company for 10 yrs. The employees have always been very nice. This year, I was on automatic delivery but they stopped delivering because I didnt pay for 1 delivery fast enough ($326). I didnt know so this caused me to run out of oil and now I have an $849 bill because of restart. I dont live in the house right now because my previous employer went bankrupt due to covid. Working in another state temporarily, makes it hard to always stay on top of when oil gets delivered. Im very upset that they did this to a long time customer. What if my pipes had frozen? I dont think automatic delivery should get stopped at Christmas because of 1 late payment leaving people with no heat. Even the electric company doesn't do this to people. I became a Petro customer through an acquisition, transitioning from Krall, which provided five-star service. Unfortunately, I find it hard even to give Petro one star. Today, I received a call to reschedule my appointment, for which I had set aside a four-hour window based on an arrangement made weeks ago. The customer service representative argued with me, stating I should have made my appointment over the summer. I explained that I made the appointment because they reached out to me just a few weeks ago. If annual service is preferred during the summer, they should proactively contact customers then, rather than waiting until winter. Last winter, I informed Petro that I was low on oil. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Prices are higher than other suppliers. Petro does not respond in a timely manner to service or delivery requests. For reference I'm on auto delivery amd was not notified that petro was planning on delivering 2 hours after it stopped snowing. The driveway had been cleared the previous evening and there was about 1/2 inch of snow in some parts and a small amount near the entrance from the town plowing overnight....never saw a truck but they say a delivery attempt was made. Now here we are 4 days later with no oil, no heat and no one answering at petro because it takes 4 full days for a re-deliver....

Quite disappointed with Petro. I ran out of oil on Sunday Nov. 16 and called Petro for an emergency delivery. I was not able to get Petro to deliver until Monday, Nov. 17. Other companies said they would deliver on Sunday but only if I was a regular customer. I have been using Petro/Krall/Alpine for 45 years. When I called Petro after the Monday delivery and asked why no Sunday delivery I was told that service was only for customers on a scheduled delivery program! No mention of that requirement on the Petro documents I hold which describes their services. On top of this, the delivery price I was charged was $4.40 per gallon for 895 gallons of #2 heating oil. We get propane delivered to us by Petro that is bought through the Citizens Oil Coop. Our driveway is really steep, but Petro always works with us to make sure we get a delivery before weather makes it impassable. Really nice people at both service and delivery end.
