1★ — Lost fastener, improper reassembly, higher power bills, and poor follow-through I contracted Philbrick Inc. Heating & Cooling for routine cleaning and maintenance on a system I purchased from them for approximately $8,000, and for which I’ve paid hundreds more over the years for service. The technician who performed the service lost a manufacturer-specific fastener and reassembled the enclosure improperly. One corner of the cover was left with about a ½-inch gap, which allowed a significant amount of cooled air to escape into my attic throughout the hottest part of the summer, increasing my electric bill. I recently had my downstairs HVAC system replaced and air scrubber installed by Philbrick.
