Port Aransas Museum

Great information on the island. The ladies we talked to and told us about the island we're wonderful and a wealth of knowledge. It's a great place to learn about the history of the island and how it was founded and the families involved.

Ladies working were very informative and polite beyond words. An awesome experience. Fact is by donation only is awesome and shows pride in what they have in there appreciate what they talk about.

A great place to learn the history of the island, some insight into the lights for lighthouses, and the story behind the wooden Farley boata. The Docent was very knowledgeable, hospitable and had a great balance of giving us an overview with some details and allowing us the opportunity to self explore while being present for questions. I highly recommend!

This is a neat little museum about the history of Port Aransas. It's small so they have to try to get a lot of history into a little area, but my understanding is that they are working on getting a bigger space that will have much more.

This is a must when visiting this town for the first time. We met a lady who was raised here who told us stories of the locals as she walked us through the museum. Fun information to learn. While you’re in Port A you will see a bunch of boat planters in front of people’s houses and businesses that pay tribute to the oldest boat maker on the island. It would make a great hide & seek game for kids.
