Rain City Clay

We had a wonderful time at the Rain City Clay Parent n' Pup Handbuilding class. The instructor was fantastic with my 5 and 7 year olds, providing wonderful examples of what they could build, and clear kid-friendly instructions. The only downside? My kids were so excited about their creations they wished they could have more than one piece fired. We'll definitely be back.

I started my 10 week class about 6 weeks ago and I am so sad it’s coming to an end soon- Rain City Clay has opened my eyes to a whole new world of expression and has made it accessible to me and others through their scholarship program, I had always wanted to try working with clay but was always scared away by other places because of money. RCC and RCS make art approachable, and thats beautiful. I am taking Sam’s wheel throwing class and he is just amazing, a true wealth of knowledge, so silly, just such a kind human. I feel so comfortable at the studio and am thankful for the environment it offers, also loving Clay Q&A!!!! I am hooked for life 💖

I started taking classes when they opened 2 years ago and I love it! The instructors are highly experienced and engaged with their students. Each week they teach us cool new techniques and tips and then we have time to work and get individual help. The class offerings are fun and I’ve learned and advanced a great deal. Also, the studio is open long days all week long for practice time. The owner, Deb, a renown ceramicist, has done a beautiful job and continues to improve the studio offerings, layout and the information thru our community app. She obviously responds well to feedback and we are lucky to have this top quality studio for learning in the West Seattle area.

I love Rain City Clay! I have been taking classes here for a year and started with zero experience in clay. I’ve learned from a diverse group of instructors at RCC and have had high quality class experiences with each one. The different artistic styles and approaches of each instructor has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. The studio offers generous open practice time for students, and a ton of different glazes to experiment with. There is definitely a sense of community at this studio. It can be intimidating to start a new hobby as an adult, but Rain City Clay is an extremely welcoming environment that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and exploration. I highly recommend!

Really enjoy the classes at Rain City Clay. The instructors are great. Every class I take, I learn something new. They really let you be creative there. Highly recommend checking it out for a class or event!
