Reads Moving Systems of Richmond

Fantastic moving company! In particular, I highly recommend dealing with Bryan Hiers. This company is great for local RVA moves and just as good at more tricky, out of area moves. A death in my family created a need for my family to quickly secure a mover that would transport items from Syracuse, NY to RVA. Bryan and Reads was great at providing me immediate options, consultation on items to insure and handled all logistics of securing movers and a truck. They even found me an estimator in NY to give my brother a quote for the local move portion. I would recommend Reads to anyone in need of a mover.

Terrible experience. For experienced movers, these guys sure don't know how to pack. I had a number of files and books. Typically these items are packed in smaller boxes (1.0 - 1.5 cu ft) due to their weight. Instead of packing multiple small boxes that would be easier to carry, they packed nearly all of my papers and books in large (4.5 cu ft) boxes. The papers, the books and the office supplies and desk organizers were all just thrown in the boxes. Papers became disheveled and desk supplies and organizers were damaged. They also used lay flat wardrobe boxes rather than EZ wardrobe boxes. So most of my clothes were excessively wrinkled. The boxes and tape used were of the lowest quality. They were flimsy. While I have not used Reads myself, several of my friends have. The moves have varied in complexity, but each time things went smoothly. No move is flawless, Reads worked with them and made sure everyone was happy in the end.
