We were unfortunately in the path of a tornado that tore through our neighborhood causing substantial damage to our turn of the century historic home. We fortunately were able to hire Renaissance to replace our slate roof and copper gutters. They were great. As architects, we were fortunate to begin working with Tony Raleigh at Renaissance Historic Exteriors several years ago on a project to restore the 1876 Lafayette Park Music Pavilion in St. Louis. His exceptional knowledge and experience in historic roof restoration has been a tremendous on-going contribution to that project. Recently we again turned to Renaissance when repeated rainstorms caused water damage and leakage at the roof of our 150-year-old Victorian house in St. Louis. Tony Raleigh made time to help us with an emergency visit between rainstorms. He understood the serious problem we were facing with the next storm coming within hours. The team at Renaissance Historic Exteriors installed a complete replacement of the slate roof on my home, including replacing inlaid gutters and downspouts and repairing and replacing wood trim as needed. They also coordinated masonry and other chimney repair and painting of the trim around the roof. The team was diligent, flexible and highly skilled. They worked long days (and sometimes weekends) for months and were flexible in creating solutions to challenges along the way. The work was very well done, and the roof looks great. The team was also very professional and polite, ensuring that the job site was cleaned up daily and thoroughly cleaned up at the end. The team also worked to minimize impact to my neighbors. I have used Renaissance Roofing for many years beginning in 2016 following a severe hailstorm. They successfully restored my slate roof to its original condition, replaced damaged guttering and downspouts, and performed outstanding copper work where necessitated by the storm damage.
