We regret hiring this contractor for our 300-square-foot addition. The experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. He never provided us with an official contract, which should have been a red flag from the start. He initially claimed the project would take three months, but it ended up taking a year to complete. During that time, he only worked a couple of days a week, and even on those days, the work rarely exceeded six hours, sometimes less. Communication was horrible. Whenever we had questions or concerns, he would get back to us, but often with vague or delayed responses. Toward the end of the project, he started claiming that things we had previously agreed upon were never in the plan, which ultimately cost us an extra $6,000—despite us not agreeing to the additional $10
