Paul & his crew came in and transformed our pond into a beautiful masterpiece!! They also put up a gorgeous fence to seperate our property line. We are enjoying sitting outside now, taking in the scenery! Paul completed these projects in the time frame he promised & we feel his cost was totally reasonable! He even did some landscaping on our front, side & back yard! Our property looks the best it ever has! He is even available for our last minute questions! If you need a contractor who is reasonable, resourceful & full of ideas, Paul is your guy!!

We needed a raised bed septic leech field. Paul was so courteous and easy to work with. Once he got the material on site he had the job done in one day! He came back next day to level and seed the ground and did it professionally! System has been working for months with no issues! Highly recommend!

We hired Schmalz Excavation to put in a new septic tank and leech field lines, but in the end we got much more than we expected. From the start Schmalz was knowledgeable about our system and was clear to best path into achieving our end goal, which was a dry yard and properly working septic system. Even when initial plans changed (through outside factors) he was able to work with us and kept an open line of communication. Once the work started it was completed in a timely manner and we felt involved and informed the whole time. We are very happy with the service and end product. Highly recommend and will use Schmalz Excavation for future work.

Oct 2023, Schmalz Excavation and I signed a contract for work to be done starting late May 2024, weather permitting. Before the contract was signed, he graciously added a few smaller 15 min jobs, probably to encourage me to sign. During the course of working at our home, there were many delays. I was very patient and would always text him advising that I understood. Several texts asking when he would return passed back and forth, he rarely would let me know when he would be here. Then when I canceled one add-on job (octagon slab under picnic table) for another (stones in front of the house) I confirmed that I would pay labor as previously discussed and he waited 6 days, then told me on July 21, “... they would not be doing any more work for me do to my indecision and lack of understan

Paul has done several jobs for us at our house. His work is tremendous and he really cares and takes pride in his work! He is hard working, honest, affordable, versatile and very well experienced. He takes the time to explain things and offers several solutions and options for your project. The work he has done for us includes: building a concrete retaining wall/flower bed and stairs, repaired heaved garage floor and crumbled wall, crusher run driveway, landscaping, stump removal and more. We definitely recommend his work!
