Sears Appliance Repair

Mitchell came out to look at our dryer and without opening the dryer up told us the start button needed replaced. He said it would be cheaper for us to buy the part and fix it ourselves. So we ordered the part. But when we opened the dryer to fix it ourselves, the plastic piece that holds the start button was broken off and now our new start button has nothing holding it into place, meaning our dryer still doesn’t work. Wasted nearly $200 just for us to have to call another repair service or get a new dryer altogether. If he would have just opened the dryer he could have see that the actual part was not broken and gave us a better idea of how to proceed

Service people are great. Automated phone system is terrible. Use website. We were charged $140 for a part that they sourced on Amazon. Amazon sells it for $12. I understand markups but come on.

No issues with the service by Otis. My complaint is with the communication. I could not share details of the entrance to the Condo, I took pictures of the furnace and the thermostat but he had to leave to go get a thermostat anyway. I could not find any way-email, text or phone call to communicate with anyone.

Ryan was very knowledgeable, personable, and did a great job! He went above the task at hand and made sure everything was working and even made sure there were no leaks.

The tech, Pedro, was very polite and cordial. Wonderful to work with, but the Sears prices were too high to justify the repair. Technician was very professional and amiable. Corporate pricing was not great.
