For the third time, Sears Home Services came to repair our cooktop. Another waste of time. The representative said that they could not repair it and it had to be done by GE. Instead of making three house calls and charging an enormous amount, I would think that they would know that right away.
The warranty company dispatched this guy that had no idea of what he was doing. He just told me the furnace was old and needed to be replaced. I just wanted it fixed and working. He told me that the flue pipe was clogged and parts were required. Had a real HVAC guy come today and he checked everything and the shut down was caused by the air filter. I was using a mist humidifier and it clogged the filter. Simple fix and this guy had no idea. He didn't check the voltage readings or do anything meaningful like the real tech. Very shocked about Sears Home Service. Be careful about up sales and lack of true service.
Our heat pump was not producing heat, and the service experience was highly unsatisfactory. The technician demonstrated unprofessional behavior and arrived with a negative attitude. He stated that he was unwilling to perform the repair due to the cold weather and informed us that he would return once temperatures increased. As a result, the service was rescheduled for two weeks later. During this time, my family and I were left without adequate heating in cold weather conditions. We were forced to purchase two space heaters to maintain a safe and livable indoor environment. When my wife asked the technician why it took so long for him to return and complete the repair, he responded by yelling at her. The technician didnt have the right equipments (check for CO) or knowledge to diagnose the issue. He started arguing with me to prove that there is something wrong with the system. I provided pictures and details of another company’s diagnostic report to help him out and Sear’s technician is like they are lying to sell me their product. He pretty much told me dont tell him what to do!! Very unprofessional and rude. The company gave me an appointment between 7 am and 6 pm.. it is a joke to give a time frame like that. Then they keep updating their arrival time through out the day. Finally the guy came around 4 pm. He wanted me to pay first and the excuse is that other customers are refusing to pay (can you believe).
