SP+ Parking @ Patriots Plaza I

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. First of all, we arrived as first time visitors to the area and realized what a headache it is to find parking. We happened upon this spot, which is convenient to the Capitol. The attendant working told us to come on in, that it was available and was public parking by the hour. There is one approximate 6 inch sign that we did not see that stated garage closed at 6 and cars parked there after that time would be locked in until next business day. We did not see this and did not realize it until too late. The attendant we spoke to upon entering never mentioned this. There is no signage in visible areas anywhere else in the garage. Save yourself the headache we experienced and do not park here. We were told if we needed to retrieve we would be charged a $50 f

If you are visiting Washington D.C, you better arrive 2-3 hours ahead of anything scheduled as parking in the city is atrocious. We found this spot which is in a good area and close proximity to the Capitol building. There are signs stating the rate but in small letters also state that the garage closes at 6pm and any vehicle left in there will be unable to be retrieved till the next morning. When the after hour number is called they offer to send someone out for a $50 fee (if anyone is even available). No one returned our call. However, if you find yourself in this situation, just wait by the door and when someone leaves the garage then just walk in to find your vehicle. You can then scan your ticket and the door will open to let you out. DO NOT park here and save yourself the trouble. Pa

I e seen a lot of negative reviews, most centering on lack of information about when the garage would be closing and people getting their cars trapped inside. I, luckily, have not used this parking lot at such times so I cannot say if that is a thing or not. Pros: Fits my large truck height. Close to the mall, air and space, bible museum, and Metro. Relatively cheap. Cons: Even though it fits my big truck's height it is very tight to drive my big truck there. I can do it because I'm an excellent operator of equipment, but a lesser driver might scrape fenders there.

Great place to park. Early bird hours. Ample parking. Clean, safe, high ceilings, no tight spaces, secure entry. Close to L'Enfant Plaza. My favorite parking garage.

Not handicap assessable. Unable to use elevator or even stairs. Security is rude and threatens people trying to get out of the garage. There are better options nearby.
